「As a surgeon」-0501-

I am alive as a surgeon. I am always on-call because of this occupation. The sound of a telephone and the sound of an ambulance are very stressful. I often imagine that sound.

I have become used to such a severe life. However, when I was leading a life in which an operation is not performed, I had a lonely feeling. I think that I am truly a surgeon.

Being an operator once you can understand many things more than being an assistant 10 times. Like a teacher doctor's puppet play, though it was only merely standing on an operator's position, the experience is wonderful.

Although I was an operator mostly involving appendicitis, hemorrhoids, a hernia, and a gallstone last year, there was no opportunity to work with the stomach and intestines.

I knew that the residents who went to other hospitals were conducting an operation for cancer. It is the talk which is only one year. If it sees with a long viewpoint, I will regard all as the ability of a case to be experienced in general equally. Honestly I got impatient, however.

I am working here at ICU from April. It is a life in which I do not have a scalpel for a while. However, there are many important things besides a scalpel. Time was moved quickly and two months have already passed. Although not studying surgery, I have mastered some new things. I am not the same man who came here.
